How to Make an Average of $35 an Hour as a Casino Dealer
Here’s the simple formula for dealers working in tip-sharing casinos: Hourly Wage + (Total Tips ÷ Total Dealers) = Your Average Hourly Pay At casinos that pool tips, this equation gives you a consistent, steady income. Compared to most service industries, casino dealers—especially those in shared-tip environments—tend to make more money with less stress. Hitting $35 an hour isn’t just possible, it’s common. Now, What About “Keep Your Own” Casinos? In casinos where dealers keep their own tips, the earnings can vary more—but the upside is bigger. Let’s break it down with a real-world example: • Say you make around $200 in tips per day, five days a week. • That’s $1,000 a week, or $2,000 every two weeks. • If you’re working 80 hours over those two weeks, that comes out to $25/hour in tips alone. • Add in a base wage—let’s say $12/hour—and you’re looking at a total of $37/hour. This is a realistic snapshot of what many dealers earn today. Of course, results vary by location, casino policy, and your own skill at dealing and interacting with players. But if you’re good, reliable, and consistent, $35–$45/hour is absolutely within reach. |
